Philippe Capelle
Philippe Capelle has been a lawyer in Ontario since 1991, and has practiced immigration law exclusively since 1993. Before entering into private practice Mr. Capelle was given specialized training in NAFTA and customs related policies through his employment with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). As CapelleKane’s primary contact for NAFTA issues, Philippe Capelle makes it a priority to stay ahead of changes to this crucial area of immigration law.
Philippe Capelle is well trained in the field of administrative law and
procedure. In 1999 he was appointed by Order-in-Council to an Ontario
administrative tribunal. In 2002 he was chosen to receive the designation
of senior lawyer member of that same tribunal. This expertise has proven invaluable in helping make Philippe a leading practitioner called to appear before the Immigration and Refugee Board.
As one of Ottawa’s most respected immigration law practitioners, Philippe Capelle is frequently asked to speak to professional audiences. Recent engagements include the Canadian Association of Management Consultants, The Ottawa Human Resources Professionals Association, the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation, l’Association Québecoise des Avocats et des Avocates en Droit de l’Immigration, and the County of Carleton Law Association.
Philippe holds a B.A. (Honours) from Carleton University and an L.L.B. from the University of Windsor (1989). Philippe is fully bilingual, offering advice and services in English and French.
