In most instances a free consultation with a law firm or consultant is an on-line assessment made without the benefit of all of the information required to assess your personal situation. Please note that any representative who offers a free consultation, without the benefit of your personal history or specific circumstances, is not necessarily accountable to you for that advice. Furthermore, there may be no solicitor-client relationship established at the time the “advice” is offered. Frequently on-line free assessments provide minimal assessments of your qualifications. You follow that advice at your own risk. Your risks can be considerable if you are waiting months, or years for a decision on an application. Complications may be especially problematic, if the result is a negative decision on your records.
